So I wish I could say everything is all done and behind us, but I can't, unfortunately. Nate would prefer that (who wouldn't??), but there's still lots to consider especially with his jaw/teeth/bite. It's all messed up. We are in the process of talking to dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and his ENT surgeon who did the initial surgery. Looks like surgery is in the forecast, but we're still trying to figure it all out so we'll see. So no rest for the doctor office weary. :) When we met with the orthopedic doctor yesterday he said the MRI showed a high grade interstitial tear in his posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), but no surgery is necessary as far as he can tell. He wants Nate doing low impact exercising for 6 more weeks, like bike riding and such to strengthen his knee. So that's the news we were hoping to hear.
We enjoyed the family reunion we went to and would like to thank all the "Cranes" for their love and support. It was really nice to get away from it all for a couple days and breathe some fresh air. Traveling didn't seem to bother Nate one way or the other. I did all the driving to be on the safe side. He still gets frustrated that he doesn't have the energy he used to have though. I don't blame him. He's also getting irritated at the fact that he's losing hours and hours to doctor visits. He'll never get that time back and once he goes back to work his days off will be clouded with appointments. But what do ya do? It would be nice if everything had a quick fix, but it doesn't. So we dig deep inside and try to find patience. In May my visiting teacher shared with me a conference talk by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf and I in turn shared it with the sisters I visit teach. He said, "Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!" Not that that's what we are necessarily doing by any means, but I try to keep that quote in mind. It's easy to "endure". You kind of have to, but to endure well? Now that takes effort! Thank you for the continued love and prayers. We love you all!
