Christmas Day

Where are all my pictures???? Seriously... you're looking at them. I must have been preoccupied, but with what? Who knows?!

Our kids didn't wake up until about 8:15 Christmas morning. That was nice! We ate breakfast then opened gifts. When I was growing up my parents always made us eat breakfast AND get dressed before anything. Our tree was also in a room that could be closed off so it wasn't right there looming in our faces as we got ready. There was so much excitement anticipating my dad opening the doors (or the sheet in the doorway in my earlier years). I have always wanted to do things the same way, but my Christmas tree, most years, is about 5 feet away from my kitchen table. So keeping everything hidden is impossible. The kids took turns opening their presents and I think were very happy with what Santa brought them. They are some good little kids!!

We have a Christmas brunch at Nate's parents house each year. We all help cook up a storm of yummy breakfast foods including ebleskivers. It was a success, like usual! We stayed until evening playing games and just hanging out. That's what I love about the holidays. We went to my parents that evening for more games and turkey rolls... yum! It was a really great day. We love our family so much and feel blessed to live close to the majority of them. When we got home that night it was snowing and the wind was blowing pretty hard. I snapped a quick picture of our White Christmas... then RAN back in the house.... brrrrr!

Your traditions sound so similar to mine, how funny!

My parents do a x-mas brunch as well and they always do ableskievers. I can't argue with a yummy breakfast :)
