I try to do my part, even though I may get laughed at. (Oh yes, some people are cruel!! You know who you are.) I turn the lights off when I exit a room. I try not to waste water. I even save magazines, newspaper, etc. to recycle, BUT what good is all of that if the love of my life doesn't give a hoot about it??? I admit, I let our recycle box fill up and up and never take it to the dumpster (I always plan to... soon) , but today my sweet husband, being the kind, helpful man he is was going to take all those magazines and newspapers to the recycle bin for me. Ah, how sweet, right? Wrong... they ended up in our stinky garbage can!! Now my contribution to the "green" world will have to wait for another day!

Kinda "Corny"!
Haley is ONE!!
Wow!! Our baby girl turned ONE year old on August 6th. She is such a happy baby. She loves following her sister and brothers around and just exploring EVERYTHING! She is taking a few steps now and gets more brave everyday. She loves pat-a-cake, peek-a-boo, and the TOILET! We love her soooo much and we are so glad she is a part of our family.HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HALEY!!
And what first birthday would be complete without letting baby dig in?!! She didn't even hestiate! We didn't have time to light the candle until after she had dug in and had a taste or two. She touched the flame, but I think had enough chocolate frosting on her finger that it didn't burn her... (why do we put an open flame by our babies anyway??) We sang 'Happy Birthday' and Tye and Kaden blew out the candle for her. I think it's safe to say she loved it!!
Bishop Family Reunion
On July 30-August 1 we had the first annual Loren and Mary Bishop family reunion. We stayed in a home just North of Jordanelle Reservoir and had the best time. The kids (and maybe the adults) made rockets, lip gloss, and a little horse shoe game. We went swimming in Park City (forgot my camera on that outing) and of course the kids loved it. There was a current in half of the pool that was not very forgiving. I got stuck in it with Tye and Haley. They both were in floaties and I was helpless!! Luckily, Nate's brother, Brian rescued us and we didn't have to go around and around and around and around... you get my point! We stayed clear of that side of the pool for the rest of the day! All the ladies went shopping at the outlets one evening and left the dads with the kids or is it the kids with the dads? Either way you look at it, they all survived!! We had a great time and can't wait for next year's reunion!
July 24th
On the 24th of July my family came over for some water slidin' and a yummy dinner. Rick (my brother) brought the slide and the kids loved it... who wouldn't?! They were doing flips, flops, and having the time of their lives. No major catastrophes happened and my grass is finally on the mend (after 2 1/2 weeks)!
Swimming Lessons
Well, we survived another year of swimming lessons!! We signed up for the mid-July session this year instead of one of the June sessions we usually do. I actually liked it better. It made it so our June wasn't quite as hectic as usual. Tye loved and hated it, Kaden did awesome and Rachel surpassed my expectations! They aren't "fish" quite yet... maybe it would help if we actually went swimming outside of lessons. Someday, someday!Tuesday, August 5, 2008
Trouble, Right Here in River City!
Ok, so I've watched 'The Music Man' a few too many times with my dad. (If you don't know what I'm talking about then don't worry about it!) I just thought I'd document what my life is filled with these days! Haley's a busy, busy girl. Her first birthday is tomorrow and Nate will be out-of-town so we'll have to celebrate it on Thursday. My poor kids and the mixed up birthdays they get!!
Dance Debut
I finally put Rachel into dance this summer and she loved it! I couldn't get her to show me much at home, but she did great at her performance on July 26th. It was weird to put make-up on my 6 year old, but she was sure she was in heaven! Grandma and Grandpa Swensen were there to cheer her on and Grandma and Grandpa Bishop were about 2 minutes too late!! We were sad they missed it, but so glad to have their support. I'm sure it won't be her last performance. What a star!!
