Austin's Baby Blessing

We planned on blessing Austin August 5th because that seriously was the only week that worked for everyone... everyone important like grandparents. :)  We were thrown for a loop with Rachel's spinal tap causing her such a bad headache.  She couldn't sit up at all without excruciating pain.  She started throwing up anything she tried to eat or drink.  It was bad.  We decided to take her to the E.R. in the early Sunday morning hours.  They got her hydrated and gave her some anti nausea pills.  Simple things, but we were losing the battle at home.  I'm so glad Nate took her in.  She started to bounce back so much better afterward.  We have church at 9:00 and Nate didn't get back with Rachel until after 8:00 a.m..  I wasn't ready at all and we couldn't leave her home.  So we cancelled the blessing.  We reached everyone in time except for Grandpa and Nana Bishop so they came and visited Rachel instead.  Then someone (not sure who) came up with the idea of just doing the blessing at Nate's parents' house later that day since we were planning on having dinner together anyway and Rachel could just lie on the couch.  Nate talked to our bishop and he was fine with it.  We just needed a member of any bishopric to preside and lucky for us Uncle Scott is a bishop and was willing to take charge.

It was fun to have it be a bit more intimate.  Nate did a great job with the blessing.  I was so happy we were able to still do it.  Austin is such a joy.  He's a good little baby and I feel so honored to be his mother.
I only got a handful of pictures- Austin with his parents, grandparents and randomly Uncle Tony. :)Wish I would have taken a picture of the whole group.  We are blessed with a big, wonderful family.  Thanks everyone for supporting us!

I'm thinking blessing the twins at home sounds like a good idea. It will be winter and Brandon's brother is in our bishopric.
