Happy Birthday, Kaden!

Kaden turned 7 years old on May 28th. He really wanted a black ninja costume with swords on his back. So, thank goodness for the internet! It was even a little hard finding the right thing, but in the end it turned out perfect. Kaden is a really great boy. He's very creative and loves Legos and Star Wars. His cake was suppose to have Darth Vader's head on it.... we had a bit of a mishap so it's not as awesome as it was suppose to be. (Not that the original was really going to be that awesome either!) See. There's my cake news. I always have something to report about the cake on birthdays! Anyway, I love the faces Kaden pulls. They are so animated, but they are the real deal. He's a lot of fun to have around and he's a super helper! We love ya, Kaden!

Piano Recital

Rachel and Kaden along with some of their cousins had a piano recital on Mother's Day, May 9th. I always enjoy listening to their music pieces that they work so hard to memorize. They all did a wonderful job. Keep up the great work, kiddos! {And a BIG thank you to Nana for teaching them!}

Captain Underpants

Of course he's suppose to be in bed, but instead he's got his underpants on his head! And since there are pictures, I obviously wasn't too upset about it.

Preschool Graduation

Tye graduated from Sunny Daze Preschool this past week. They sang lots of songs and recited some poems. His teacher, Miss Shauna, said she loved Tye's smile and that he was always happy. He has absolutely LOVED preschool. If he ever had to miss a day it was heartbreaking to him. Each morning he would wake up and ask if it was a preschool day. He has learned a lot and is excited for kindergarten this fall.

Tye's Birthday

Tye turned 5 on May 13th. Wow! How can he be five years old already??? He may be small, but he makes up for it in energy and enthusiasm! He is a sweet little guy, but knows how to hold his own when it comes to sibling squabbles. He woke up bright and early to open his presents waiting for him on the kitchen table. We planned his party for the following day since Nate wasn't suppose to fly in until late that night, but to our surprise just as we sat down for dinner the door bell rang and there was Nate at the door. It made me cry..... in a good way. I was expecting it to be a salesman or something since it was at an inconvenient time and I usually figure out Nate's surprises and ruin them for him, but he got me! I am so glad, too. He said he was never going to try to surprise me again if I figured it out this time! Anyway, we still did most of the celebrating on the 14th. He had 8 friends over for an Iron Man party. Then later that evening his grandparents came over for cake and ice cream. He got some fun presents and has some wonderful people in his life and I know he really enjoyed having his birthday cover two days! That seems to be the norm around here with a traveling daddy. :)

Last week Rachel checked out a book at the school library called Craft Fun! She had her heart set on making hats.... so we did. (This is where I MAKE myself put everything aside and just help them be kids. Crafts just aren't my thing, but it's not about ME, now is it?!)

Eliza {4 Months}

This little bundle of joy turned 4 months on April 22nd. She weighed in at {12 lbs 10 oz} and was 23 3/4 inches long. She really is a joy to have in our home. She's a happy little thing most of the time until she realizes that everyone has gone out of the room and she's all alone.... of course she's never all alone for long. Someone always rescues her! She laughs and giggles, sucks on her hands a lot, hates tummy time, goos and coos, grabs toys and really likes to be held, but is content in her bouncer or swing. She is sleeping a little longer at night which I am loving, but we still meet up for a "mid-night" snack or two! We all are loving every minute with her, but the days just keep zipping by. Wish I could freeze time for just a little while....

Tye asked me this morning, "How do you know if a person is a boy or a girl when they are born? Do they come with a tag?"
